Are you a book lover looking for love in all the wrong places? Then try the library.
The library will offer 2 hours of speed dating Thursday night, October 18, beginning at 8 pm.
Bring a copy of your favorite book.
As people enter they will draw a question about their relationship with books, e.g., what was your favorite book as a child?
At 8 sharp, everyone will be given a glass of wine or other favorite beverage and mingle using the drawn question as a conversation starter. Everyone will switch partners every five minutes.
Later, everyone will tell the group about the favorite book they brought.
At the end of the night you will place your telephone number in the books of the people you would like to meet again.

Blubber, the Sad Clown, will visit the library on Wednesday, September 12th, from 3 pm to 4 pm.
Blubber will entertain boys and girls of all ages with his hilarious jokes and amazing magic.
So come and bring a friend.
Popcorn and peanuts will be served.

We'll turn your boys into whalers and your daughters into wenches during this Fall's story hours. Each Saturday from 10 am to noon we will learn about 19th century whaling.
- We will start off our adventure by reading aloud a chapter of Moby Dick.
- Everyone will learn whaling skills: harpoon throwing, cutting up whale blubber, and puking over the railing.
- Afterwards the girls will serve refreshments of hardtack, alt pork and pints of ale.
- On the last day, we will celebrate returning to port with an afternoon of drinking and wenching.

This exciting, informative program will begin, September 9, Sunday afternoon, at 1 pm, Larry "the Statue" Smith will be carried in a sitting position into the library. He will remain without moving or speaking until 6 pm, when he will be carried out again.
This is a program you will be talking about for years.

- In the Title line, type the name of the upcoming event.
- In the message area, type the announcement of the upcoming event.
- In the lower right corner Labels for this post line type Upcoming event, not the name of the event.
- Click Publish Post.
- For all future announcements of upcoming events, type in the same label, Upcoming event. This automatically create a link in sidebar labels to this announcement. Clicking the sidebar link will display all postings with this label. The newest posting will be at the top. Earlier postings will be below.
- When the event is over, remove the announcement.
- On the Main tab, click Posting.
- On the sub-tabs, click Edit Posts. This will list all the posts.
- On the far left click Upcoming events. This will list only announcements of upcoming events.
- Read the post titles to find past event.
- Click Delete at the right end of this title.
- The click Delete It to finish deleting the list.
